2023 NH MUSCLE CARS SEASON PREVIEW

A Look Ahead to 2023

As we head into December, we'll begin announcing our 2023 events schedule. We've been "tracking" the local car scene and of course we've been listening to our membership. We have always tried to be an innovative club and I think we have accomplished this in many ways, from our club construct: no club dues, member welcome kit, and club sponsor/member community, to the unique venues we have partnered with and even the way that we run our events (thank you Core Team!).

We have been hard at work on our 2023 calendar, which will bring more change. Here a few of the highlights:

MORE "MEMBER EVENTS" AND FEWER "CAR SHOWS"

The amount of car shows and cruise-ins on any given weekend has been amazing. This is great news for our hobby as we all have a lot of options on just about every weekend. It was common to have 2-3 shows “competing” with each other for attendance on the same day/time almost every weekend. The result of this was that most shows saw reduced attendance last year, as they were diluted due to attendance being shared across the abundance of shows available. Our 2023 response to this will be fewer “car shows” and more “member events,” which will allow us to offer unique options for our membership and a differentiator from the overcrowded car show scene.

CHANGE TO EVENTS STRUCTURE

Car shows have become a bit mundane as formats between shows all seem to mimic each other. In addition, the weather this past summer did not help much as regardless of who’s show you attended, sitting in 90+ degree heat all day wasn’t pleasant. Our response to this will be shifting show times, shortening the length of shows, and new show formats and event schedule. Continuing our monthly events schedule, in 2023 we will have 5 member events and only 3 car shows: a Season Opener, a Mid-Summer show, and a Season Closer.

REDUCING THE COST OF ATTENDANCE

We are all aware of the current economic climate and 2023 is likely to be a challenging year. Considering this, we will be dropping our cost to enter events for our show car participants. Our standard cost format for car shows will be $10 per show car (includes car and driver) and $5 for each spectator, with many of our member events having FREE components to attend. We will also eliminate car show pre-registration, as this not only complicated our entrance gates, but also had substantial online “fees” that were associated with each transaction.

WHAT’S NOT CHANGING

We have the best volunteer team that runs our shows…bar none! You can count on the fact that our shows will continue to be very well structured and run. We will maintain a schedule of monthly events from April-November (8 events total).

We have always done a phenomenal job of fundraising (thanks to you!) and we will continue to have fundraising and charities associated with our events. In 2022 we fundraised $18,897 for charities and this will continue to be a fundamental component of our club ongoing!

We are very excited about our 2023 season, and we look forward to announcing each event through the month of December!

Saturday, July 30th, 2022

We are very excited to announce that NH Muscle Cars will be THE car show at New England Dragway’s largest self-run event.

We will have our car show during the day, from 11-4:00 (show car gates open at 10AM) to coincide with the Jet Cars at night, so you are able to take advantage of both the car show and the NED evening events in addition to being able to watch the scheduled NED day of drag racing. This is an “all vehicle show” with our typical 23 custom trophies going to the winners. We’ll have live music, a DJ, giveaways, and all the things that you have become accustomed to enjoying at our shows PLUS all of the NED activities!!!

We have lots of details that we will be announcing, but we do want to highlight a few things:

  • Show cars will have their own entrance gates

  • Show cars and their passengers will receive a discounted entrance which translates to a $5 club discount for adults for the full day event WITH NO ADDITIONAL COST TO ENTER YOUR SHOW CAR.

  • Spectators not in a show car (that come in through the spectator gates) that are NH Muscle Cars club members, can show their club card to also receive a $5 adult ticket discount. We will be publishing a complete discount schedule for spectators of all ages that attend with adult members.

  • This is a full day and night event. Your discounted NH Muscle Cars entrance gets you into all festivities (for people in show cars and those just spectating).

  • Member bracket racing is not a part of this event as there is a full structured day of racing already scheduled (see NED’s schedule).
